Q. What is SEO?

SEO stands for search engine optimisation, and while there are many detailed explanations, the best one we can think of is “making things appear higher in Google (or any other search engine)”. In our case, we also break SEO into on-site and off-site SEO.

On-site SEO works on things on your own site that will help search engines understand what you do and find all the pages on your site. Off-site SEO is concerned with creating links back to your site in order to help demonstrate relevance and popularity to Google.

It is obviously more technical than that, but we reckon these are good summaries.

Q. Can you work on SEO on any type of website?

Yes we can. If your website is built on a CMS (content management system) like WordPress then as long as we have administration access to the CMS then we can work on your SEO. If your website is not built on a CMS then please contact us and we will let you know what we can do to help your Business.

Q. My website is not responsive. Can you still help me with my SEO?

Because of on-going changes in Google’s algorithm we advise all clients to ensure their website is responsive before we start any work on SEO. Not responsive? Contact us we can make your website responsive if you are unable to get it done.

Q. How do I know if my website has good SEO?

First thing’s first we’ll run an SEO (search engine optimisation) audit of your website. Essentially this is a health check to help us see where all the good and not so good areas of your SEO are both onsite and offsite. We’ll use this to help build a strategy for your SEO and our digital marketing team will send you an SEO report monthly so you can track the results of our work.

Q. Do you adhere to search engines’ webmaster guidelines?

MarketingAlien always follows best practice when it comes to adhering to search engines’ webmaster guidelines including Google, Bing and Yahoo. We don’t buy links or purchase any ‘black hat’ SEO techniques either. Our crown is truly shiny when it comes to SEO.

Q: Can you guarantee my website will appear on page one of the search engines?

We can guarantee the number one spot on the first page of Google, but you have to follow our procedures to reach to page one of any search engine, and always bear in mind what you want to be number one for. There are many different keywords to choose from and you need to think about which ones your target markets are likely to use. Also the search engine’s algorithms change regularly so you may find yourself on page one, one day but not the next. If you have a well -constructed search engine friendly website, keep it well maintained and updated, and create good quality back-links from across the internet – then you will have the best possible chance of getting and keeping a good page ranking. Investing in SEO (search engine optimisation) on an ongoing basis is really important to help you build your organic ranking on Google. Contact our SEO consultants for further info on this topic.

What is PPC?

PPC stands for pay-per-click, and is a phrase used to describe the paid advertising model available to companies on sites such as Google (the results at the right or top of the normal search results). The name comes from the fact you only pay for the advertising when someone clicks on it. It is commonly used to refer to Google Ad-words (Now Google Ads), but could equally describe Bing Advertising, Facebook Advertising or any other kind of online advertising where you pay per click.

Q. Can you help me set up a PPC campaign?

You will need a Google Ads account to be able to run a PPC (pay-per-click) campaign. Once you have signed up (we can help you with that), our PPC experts can set up the campaign for you. This will be based on your key objectives, keywords, target audience and geographical target market. If you need some help to set up your Ads account? Contact us and we’ll be happy to guide you through the process. It’s fairly simple to do.

Q. How do you set a budget for PPC?

Our PPC (pay-per-click) experts will work with you to determine a level of spend for your PPC campaign. We use Google Ads to assess the competitiveness of the market and will suggest a minimum and maximum budget to invest in. On an on-going basis we will then optimise your campaign to ensure that we are making the most of your budget to generate a good return on investment (ROI).

Q. How does payment for PPC campaigns work?

MarketingAlien charge a one-off fee for setting up a PPC (pay-per-click) campaign and then a monthly management fee. We don’t tend to run automated campaigns as it’s much more effective to optimise your budget on a daily basis. Any spend you do make on search terms will be paid directly to Google, straight from your Google Ads account.

Q. Is PPC expensive?

PPC (pay-per-click) doesn’t have to be expensive if you set up and optimise your campaigns correctly. It’s all about being intelligent with your targeting and keywords and ensuring you’re monitoring performance closely. You can pause campaigns at any point too so if we find a particular search term is becoming too competitive, there’s always the option to stop and review.

Q: Should you use the Builderall or Clickfunnel software to create your marketing funnels?

Builderall and Clickfunnels both offer services for you to effectively create marketing funnels. So it is difficult to decide which software to use. Builderall takes the approach of offering as many digital marketing services as possible, not just funnels. For example, you can do anything from creating a marketing funnel to designing your own app. Whereas Clickfunnels take a ‘less is more’ stance. They offer a focused, detailed and effective marketing funnel and email marketing service. If you need talking through more information about the features offered by the two pieces of software please arrange a meeting to discuss further with one of our sales funnel consultant.

Q: Should you be using Kartra or Clickfunnels for your funnel marketing?

Kartra is another software very similar to Clickfunnels in terms of what you can achieve. However, with Clickfunnels, you get your results a lot quicker.  Kartra also has a much smaller community due to Clickfunnels being established for a number of years now. This is proven by the increasing number of Clickfunnels affiliates. Karta taccles marketing funnels from the opposite direction. Users must envision their end goal and work backwards from the final ‘thank you’ page. This may work in some cases but it makes the software a lot less accessible and prevents users from getting stuck straight into their funnel creations.

Q: Should you use Kajabi or Clickfunnels as your digital marketing tool?

Kajabi and Clickfunnels are two marketing platforms, but aimed at different audiences. If you are selling your knowledge or a purely digital product, then Kajabi may be suitable for you. However, Kajabi could be limiting as there is no opportunity to incorporate physical products, if you should wish to. Clickfunnels offers far more opportunity as users can pretty much sell whatever their heart desires. Digital or physical… there are no limits. Kajabi offer some great features for selling online courses or online events, however unless you have significant expertise to sell, it wouldn’t be right for you.

Q: Would Leadpages or Clickfunnels be better suited to your business?

It is debatable whether Leadpages can be considered a Clickfunnels alternative. This tool offers far less than Clickfunnels, as you can only create the initial landing page stage of your funnel. The main aim of Leadpages is to generate and capture leads. You would therefore have to use another software to build up the rest of your funnel. Clickfunnels allows you to take your marketing funnels a lot further by allowing you to create email campaigns too.

Q: Should your business use Shopify or Clickfunnels for your funnel marketing?

Shopify is a platform for users to build fully-fledged online stores. You can sell a range of different products successfully, however, there are far fewer features for really selling. Clickfunnels takes a more direct approach to sales with their funnels using engaging content and offering visitors one option only – buy or leave. You can sell multiple products on Clickfunnels too, as the standard package provides you with three domains.

Q: Are there any worthwhile Clickfunnel alternatives?

In our opinion in this day and time Clickfunnels is a lot better from many different platforms out there, although still there are a lot of things that can be improved in the future otherwise someone else will take this market if they can provide an alternative to those issues. But right now Clickfunnels presents guaranteed sales solutions for your business. However, it is still important to understand the potential Clickfunnels alternatives out there. Clickfunnels can even be integrated with other pieces of software, so you can reap the benefits of a number of available tools! Some of the main Clickfunnel alternatives are Kartra, Leadpages, Kajabi, Builderall and Shopify.
